Hero of the Week 5/21/21 (Hydrite)

Posted by Silver Spring Neighborhood Center - 2021-05-21 13:40:20

Today's Hero is a whole team of volunteers from Hydrite!

We were so lucky to have them help swing by and help us kick start season opening of the aquaponics center, Zen Garden, and greenhouse!

Teaming up with the always amazing SHARP Literacy, they popped by for an afternoon last week.

If you're unfamiliar with Hydrite, they are one of the largest and most respected providers of chemicals and related services in the United States, with a commitment to the Milwaukee community.

A squad of the wonderful Hydrite folks donated their time and energy to get our gardens growing!

They even constructed this beautiful new picnic table for our kids to have a place to have lunch in the Zen Garden!

With their help, our greenhouse is up and running for the season! While some programming of the aquaponics network faced some delays with the pandemic, we're so excited to see this literally growing by the day before our eyes in 2021!

We'll share more about this in a future Hero of the Week as the greens keep growing!

Hydrite's employees focus their time and effort on issues like Children’s Needs & Development, Education, Environment, and Local Needs. We're honored that they spent an afternoon helping our community. If your organization is ever interested in helping out the SSNC, please feel free to inquire with Benjamin Holt

We want to thank those wonderful Hydrite employees who stopped out for an afternoon as well as a company who supports community service!

That's why... Our homies at Hydrite are our...

HERO(es) OF THE WEEK!!!
